HOW TO PLAY:
Netball is a fast-paced team sport played by two teams of seven on a rectangular court divided into five key areas. The objective is simple: outscore your opponents by successfully shooting the ball into their net.
5 MAIN RULES:
1) NO TRAVELLING WITH THE BALL. Players cannot run with the ball. They must pass or shoot the ball within three seconds of catching it. Once a player catches the ball, they can only take one and a half steps. The first foot that lands is the "landing foot," and the player can pivot on it but cannot lift it and put it back down.
2) THREE-SECOND RULE. Players cannot hold the ball for more than three seconds.
3) THREE-FEET RULE (obstruction). A defender must stand at least three feet (approximately 0.9 meters) away from the player with the ball. They cannot touch the player or the ball when it is in their hands.
4) OFFSIDE RULE (designated zones). Each player's position on the court is restricted to certain areas (thirds) of the court, and they cannot move into areas designated for other positions.
5) NO CONTACT. Players cannot physically contact other players to get the ball. Defenders cannot snatch, hit, or otherwise take the ball directly from an opponent's hands
